Wahoo Cycling Sensors

Small sensors, better data, safer rides. The TRACKR RADAR watches the road behind you and doubles as a smart tail light. The TRACKR SPEED straps around your wheel hub and allows you to record exact speed and distance with a computer or phone app, no GPS needed. Both run dual band ANT+ and Bluetooth, and both feed the same Wahoo ecosystem as your bike computer and trainer. This guide covers each sensor: how they compare, full specifications and the questions riders ask most.

TRACKR RADAR

See what's coming up behind you

¥32,000

An all-in-one tail light and radar that keeps you aware, visible, and in control. It spots vehicles up to 150 meters (164 yards) back and warns you on your bike computer before you hear them.

The TRACKR RADAR bike radar and tail light pairs with ELEMNT GPS bike computers and other compatible head units and watches over ANT+ and Bluetooth. Approaching cars appear as vehicle icons on your screen with audible and visual alerts, that change color based on the speed of the approaching vehicle. Dual high-intensity LEDs adjust to traffic, an accelerometer-driven Brake Light brightens as you slow, a Quick Alert Light flashes when a vehicle closes in, and Battery Saver dims the light when the road behind is clear. Wahoo walks through the moments when radar detection on a bike prevents crashes if you want the case for riding with one.

  • 150m (164yd) Detection Range
  • 53 Max Lumens
  • 20hr Max Battery
  • IPX7 Water Rating
  • 99g Weight
  • Vehicle Detection to 150 Meters (164 Yards)

The radar tracks vehicles approaching from behind up to 150 meters away and pushes audible and on-screen alerts to your paired bike computer or watch.

  • Smart Tail Light

Dual high-intensity LEDs run steady or flashing up to 53 lumens. The light responds to approaching traffic, and a brake feature brightens it when you slow down.

  • Smart Light Control

ELEMNT bike computers manage the light hands free. The radar runs a Brake Light that brightens as you slow, a Quick Alert Light that flashes when traffic closes in, and a Battery Saver that drops the brightness when no vehicles are around, stretching runtime to 20 hours.

  • Quarter-Turn Mount

A quick-connect strap and quarter-turn mount with three wedge options fits round, aero, D-shaped, and flat seatposts.

TRACKR SPEED

Exact speed and distance, no GPS needed

¥5,250

A magnet-less speed sensor that mounts to your wheel hub and records precise speed and distance. It works on the trainer, in the city, and anywhere GPS drops out.

The TRACKR SPEED bike speed sensor attaches to most wheel hubs up to 40mm in diameter and broadcasts over ANT+ and Bluetooth at the same time. A replaceable CR2032 coin cell runs for up to 200 hours of riding. Two LEDs confirm connection and speed detection at a glance. It works with ELEMNT bike computers and third-party cycling apps alike, though it is not compatible with most spin bikes.

  • 200hr Battery Life
  • 13g Weight
  • BT+ANT+ Dual Band
  • IPX7 Water Rating
  • 40mm Max Hub Size
  • Magnet-Less Hub Mount

No magnets or spoke alignment. The sensor straps to the wheel hub and reads wheel rotation directly, on almost any bike.

  • Dual Band Broadcasting

ANT+ and Bluetooth run at the same time. Pair it with your bike computer, watch, phone, and indoor apps together.

  • 200-Hour Replaceable Battery

A standard CR2032 coin cell lasts up to 200 riding hours. Swap it in seconds. There is nothing to charge.

  • LED Status Lights

A blue LED shows the device connection and a red LED confirms speed detection before you roll out.

One app, every sensor

Pair either sensor with the free Wahoo app to set it up, update firmware, and record your rides.

  • Guided Pairing

The app finds your sensor over Bluetooth and walks through setup in a couple of minutes.

  • Firmware Updates

Radar and sensor firmware stays current over the air, straight from your phone.

  • Light Settings

Pick the TRACKR RADAR's custom light settings in the Wahoo app, change the Light Mode on the device, or let an ELEMNT computer manage them on the road.

  • Ride Recording

Record speed and distance in the app when you ride without a bike computer.

  • Third-Party Sync

Finished rides go to Strava, TrainingPeaks, Apple Health, Komoot, and over 110 other apps.

  • Works Beyond Wahoo

Dual band ANT+ and Bluetooth pairs these sensors with most head units, watches, and indoor apps, Wahoo or not.

What You Need To Know

The most common questions about Wahoo cycling sensors.

Do I need a Wahoo bike computer to use these sensors?

No, you can use these sensors with a number of devices; however, the sensor compatibility varies slightly. TRACKR SPEED is platform-agnostic. It broadcasts standard ANT+ and Bluetooth, pairing seamlessly with almost any bike computer, GPS watch, phone, or indoor app. TRACKR RADAR requires an ELEMNT computer or another bike computer/GPS watch that specifically supports ANT+ Radars. While you can use the Wahoo app on your phone to change the radar's settings, you cannot use the app to view active radar alerts.

How does the TRACKR RADAR alert me to traffic?

The radar watches up to 150 meters behind you. When a vehicle approaches, your paired bike computer or watch shows it as a dot moving up the screen edge and plays a tone. The tail light also reacts to traffic, and its brake feature brightens when you slow. Wahoo breaks down the critical moments when rearview radar prevents crashes, and the TRACKR RADAR setup and pairing guide covers getting it running.

Why buy a speed sensor when GPS tracks my speed?

GPS wanders under tree cover, in tunnels, between tall buildings, and indoors it does not work at all. The TRACKR SPEED bike speed sensor reads the wheel itself, which makes speed and distance exact everywhere, including on the trainer. It keeps feeding accurate numbers even when you are navigating with an ELEMNT GPS bike computer through a dead zone.

What batteries do the sensors use?

The TRACKR RADAR has a rechargeable battery good for 10 to 20 hours depending on light mode, with a Battery Saver mode that stretches it further in light traffic. The TRACKR SPEED uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell that lasts up to 200 riding hours.

Can I use these sensors in the rain?

Yes. Both carry an IPX7 rating, which covers rain, road spray, and brief submersion up to a meter.

Will they work with Zwift and other indoor apps?

The TRACKR SPEED pairs with Zwift, TrainerRoad, Rouvy, and similar apps over Bluetooth or ANT+, and the Wahoo App and Zwift integration guide covers how the data flows. On a wheel-on trainer the sensor gives those apps accurate speed without a smart trainer, which Wahoo explains in its guide to choosing an indoor bike trainer. The radar is an outdoor device and has no indoor use.
